A small, short-furred gray animal called a divos lives on an island. This island habitat is warm

and provides the divos’ only food—tree ants. The divos live high in the treetops, hidden away

from predators.

One year the habitat experienced a drastic change that lasted for most of the year. The weather

became very cold and it even snowed on the island. All of the tree ants died. The trees lost their

leaves, but plenty of seeds and dried leaves were on the ground.

Circle and of the things that you think happened to most of the divos living on the island after their

habitat changed.

A: The divos’ fur grew longer and thicker.

B: The divos switched to eating seeds.

C: The divos dug holes to live under leaves or beneath rocks.

D: The divos died.

E: The divos hibernated through the cold period until the habitat was warm again.

Explain your choice(s). How did you decide what effect the changes in the habitat would have on

most of the divos?

Respuesta :

they died, because the divo's only food died and because of the cold. they cannot grow thicker fur in a year, they cannot change their diet drastically, they cannot just learn to hibernate and they are not used to digging.
