The Indian New Deal consisted of the following:
1) Indian Emergency Conservation Program (IECP)- This was a public works project that hired Native Americans to help fix the infrastructure/land on reservations. This program helped to employ roughly 85,000 Native Americans.
2) Hiring Native Americans for other public works projects- Native Americans got the opportunity thanks to other government programs including the Works Progress Administration and the Conservation Civilian Corps.
3) Indian Reorganization Act- This got rid of the restrictive Dawes Act of the 1880's and allowed for more tribal sovereignty and the ability to practice their culture/norms without federal punishment.
