If Chelsea is getting out socks in a dark room and she does not care whether she has a black pair or a white pair, how many socks must she get from the drawer to be sure that she has two that match? The answer is C 3. she has a 50/50 chance of grabbing either black or white. Subtracting either a black or white sock, the probably of getting a matching pair is 1/3 from there.
