In order for a behavioral definition to possess social validity, two outside independent observers must agree that the definition captures the characteristics of the target behavior. Social validity refers to social importance and acceptance when someone has a goal, procedure to follow or an expected outcome. Being able to make sure your goals and outcomes that are wanted happen and align happen when outside sources can help you reach that goal.
