Answer:

The Columbian Exchange was the exchange of foods, ideas, and more. Christopher Columbus and his crew initiated the Columbian Exchange in 1492. This trade was between the Old World and the New World. Many people were greatly impacted by the new materials that they were introduced to. Although there were intended consequences there were also unintended consequences.

One unintended consequence were horses. Spanish explorers brought horses when they entered the New World. Some of the horses escaped and were now living among Native Americans. They did not start using horses right away, in fact they feared them at first. Much later they began to use them and see their true potential.

Even though horses in the New World were unintentional Native Americans were positively impacted. Horses made transportation of people and items much easier. Horses then began to spread. More and more tribes started to utilize horses and it became the new normal. Altogether horses were a great unintentional consequence.

Columbian exchange was a trade in plants, animals, metals, commodities, deseases, technology, and ideas between the Europeons in the Eastern hemisphere and the Americans in the western hemisphere.

Unintended consequences of exchange

Some European sailors and conquistadors were suffering from smallpox. Sailors and native Americans came in contact with each other and ended up spreading the plague to their friends, family, and neibours before dying. This was not intentional action of sailors as they were not aware of the fact that they are infected and are also infecting others.

Europeons took the potatoes from the new world of Native Americans to the old world as potatoes became very important ingredient in the meals of European countries and they does not wanted to eat without potatoes. This was unintentional on the part of European countries as the have not planned this beforehand to make potato an important part of their meal.

The demand for sugar increased rapidly in Europe and this resulted in the demand for more workers to work for sugarcane planters as slaves so they started kidnapping people to make them slaves. This was unintentional as the increase in demand cannot be planned.

Spanish people brought with them horses to the new world which became a point of attention for Americans. Americans trapped and trained themselves in riding horses. This was unintentional as Americans were unaware of the fact that they could be such good riders and horses can be of such high value.
