Four type of Financial aid
1. Grants: Financial aid which does not have to repaid.offered by federal and state government, as well as some institution.Grant may be merit-based, student-based or need-based. The federal government offers the following grant:
Pell Grants- Pell grant awarded to undergraduate student who have not earned a bachelor's degree or professional degree.
Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants(FSEOG)- FSEOG are grant for undergraduate student with exceptional financial need.
Teacher Education Assistance For College and Higher Education(TEACH) Grants - Teach grant help you to pay for school if you plan to become a teacher and teach in high-need field in low- need income.
Iraq and Afghanistan Services Grant- These grants are provided for those whose parent or guardian died during miliatary service in iraq or afghanistan war.
2.Scholarship: It is offered to those student with academic performnace, athletic ability, religious affiliation, and rece, amongs other.
3. Loans- offered by federal government and private institution, Loan are money that you borrow to attend college.
4. Federal Loan- There are many type of federal loans,
* Subsidized Loan- Student who have demonstrated financial need.
* Unsubsidized Loans- Student regardless of financial need are responsible for repaying interest during period.
* Plus loans- Plus loans are available for graduate or professional student and parents of dependent undergraduate student to help pay for expenses not covered by other financial aid.
Perkin Loans- this is a school based loan for undergraduate and graduate student with exceptional financial need.
Private Loans- this is grated by private bank and may help to bridge the gap between the cost of your education and amont of financial aid you receive from the government.
