What was the result of the assault on Fort Wagner by the African American soldiers of the union’s 54th Massachusetts Regiment?

In July 18, 1863, a Union regiment of free African Americanmen that the 54th Massachusetts Regiment began their assault on Fort Wagner, but this action upon Fort Wagner led the soldiers of union to a failure. Even though operation was not successful, the regiment earned respect for its bravery in action.

The result was a total failure. The Union Regiment of Free African American Men from the 54th Regiment assaulted, in July 18, the Fort Wagner.

This ended up nothing but a massive failure with 20 killed, 125 wounded and 102 missing and presumed dead.

Even though it was a disaster, the men are remembered for their bravery.
