The case of Miranda v. Arizona was when the defendant was questioned but was not informed of his rights! The result was Miranda went to jail for 20-30 years! The police officers got a written confession from him because Miranda didn't know what rights he had! Because of this case police officers now have to say the following: 
You have the right to remain silent.Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law.You have the right to an attorney.If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be appointed for you.Hope this helps!
