He is considered a Patron of the Arts, he commissioned lots of painting of himself and others, he built the Escorial Monastery that was known as a world wonder at the time. The Prado Museum was also founded, artists were attracted such as Titan, Anthonis Mor, El Greco, Pompeo, and others. This made Spanish arts become international.
