The microscopic structures, the DNA sequences, the biochemistry and the morphological structures are used as evidence that support
the idea that land plants arose from green algae. The photosynthesize is the main evidence. Green algae also have cell walls made of cellulose, starch is the food/energy storage and have life cycles similar to the life cycles of land plants.
