Selena rides her bicycle to work. It takes her 15 minutes to go 3 miles. How many feet will she travel in 3 minutes

You can set up a proportion for this problem.  So, 3/15=x/3.  Cross multiply to get 15x=9, and then divide both sides of the equation by 15 to get x as 0.6.  So Selena travels 0.6 of a mile in 3 minutes.
