Work out the mean height of the girls
We know that there are 32 students and 14 boys, therefore there are 18 girls
We also know that the mean height of all of the boys is 1.56 meters
We can express the boys mean height in the following equation (considering the mean would be the total hieght of the boys (x) divided by the number of boys
X/18=1.56
X=18*1.56
X=28.8 meters
We can also express the mean height of the entire class with the same equation where x is the total boys height and y is the total girls height:
X+Y/32=1.515
28.08+Y/32=1.515
28.08+Y=1.515*32
28.08+Y=48.48
Y=48.48-28.08
Y=20.4
