The lesson on naming convention in monosaccharides does not state how to designate nitrogen molecule because monosaccharides do not have nitrogen in their structures. Monosaccharides are the simplest form of carbohydrates and like all other carbohydrates, they are made up of carbon, hydrogen and atom molecules. Nitrogen does not exist in carbohydrates, it can only be found in proteins.
