When walking through the woods Adam and Alise saw many mushroom-like organisms growing out of logs that were laying on the ground. These logs were pieces of trees that had either completely fallen down or had broken off of the larger tree. What did Adam and Alise really see?

The answer is  C. the mushroom were decomposing the dead tree logs
