Solution :

According to the Dalton's law, the total pressure of the gas is equal to the sum of the partial pressure of the mixture of gasses.

where,

[tex]P_T[/tex] = total partial pressure = 2.25 atm

[tex]P_{A}[/tex] = partial pressure of one gas = 1.43 atm

[tex]P_{B}[/tex] = partial pressure of another gas = ?

Now put all the given values is expression, we get the partial pressure of the another gas.

[tex]2.25atm=1.43atm+p_{B}[/tex]

[tex]p_{B}=0.82atm[/tex]

Therefore, the partial pressure of other gas in a mixture is, 0.82 atm
