In the US Politics the convention system is the use of a convention in which a representative party assembly nominates candidates and approves platforms and party rules. Usually, the party leaders are big fans of this system because it gives them opportunity to take care of the other party business besides nominating candidates (option A). This makes them more important and gives them more influence over the people who hold governmental office.
