The general form of point-slope is y - y1 = m(x - x1)
IF you are looking for the value of the slope, then look no further than the number attached to the (x - x1) part of the equation. For example the formula
y - 2 = 3(x + 2), notice the number attached to (x + 2), the 3. This is value of the slope.
To tell how the line looks use this general statement
slope is positive - the line from left to right will go up
slope is negative - the line from left to right will go down
y = a number - this is a zero slope, so the line neither goes up or down
x = a number - this is an undefined slope, so the line goes straight up and down
