Tendon reflexes, also known as deep tendon reflexes or tendon is monosynaptic stretch reflexes that can be elicited during a clinical examination by percussion of a muscle tendon.
The outcome is a rapid and transient stimulation of dynamic stretch receptors. The biceps tendon reflexes can be touched to cause the biceps muscle to contract. Additionally, when the radial bone is tapped, the same thing occurs, and it has been suggested that vibration acts as a stimulus for deep tendon reflexes. In order to determine if the typical stimulus for the deep tendon reflexes would be a vibration, an stretch, or both, we conducted research. We also investigated how position influenced reflex responses in both controls and stroke patients.
The tendon extensions of muscles tendon attach them to the bones. Muscles pull the bones by pulling on the tendons. The four tendons that make up the rotator cuff connect the muscles at the deepest layer.
