Cell division is a highly regulated process to ensure the correct formation of daughter cells. If cell division does not take place correctly, it results in cancer. Cancer is a disease of uncontrolled cell division forming masses of undifferentiated cells, also called tumor in the body.
When the tumor does not spread to the whole body and remains confined in a fixed place, it is called benign. However when the tumor starts spreading to the whole body, a property called metastasis, it becomes malignant. The treatment of cancer can be done by various methods. The two most commonly implemented methods are: radiation therapy and chemotherapy.
