Many developmental psychologists feel that the two biggest influences on a child's life are their parents and their peers. According to Bronfenbrenner's ecological theory, Microsystem would therefore have the most influence.
The microsystem is the first level of Bronfenbrenner's ecological theory, these are the things that have direct contact with the child in their instant environment, such as parents, brothers, sisters, school, teachers and friends.
The microsystem is where we occupy most of our time and have the most experienced relationships, namely, home, neighborhood, school/childcare, work.
Examples of microsystems comprise the family, school, religion, peer groups, and neighborhoods. Microsystems are the nearby impact to a child that directly influence their psychosocial development.
