What is Operation section?
- All incident tactical operations are carried out by the Operations Section. The Operations Section's activities address important concerns such life safety, incident stabilisation, property preservation, and the return of regular roadway operations. Every time ICS is established at a roadway incident, organisational components of the Operations Section will be present.
- The levels of the complete organisational hierarchy for the Operations Section are depicted in Exhibit 2-4. A resource is the name given to the lowest organisational unit, which can be a crew of people or a single piece of machinery. Resources can be divided into functional Groups or geographical Divisions as needed. Divisions and groups can be arranged under many Branches for very large events.
