Informed consent is a term that is used to define the anthropologist's ethical obligation to take permission from those people they are studying.

Informed consent- Initially these guidelines were used for medical as well as psychological research but later these ethics were incorporated into anthropological research also. The consent of a group or person is necessary to do research, consent will make them clear about things.  

Informed consent should be such that the group may understand and accept it genuinely, it should not be coerced on them. The document should be that they could understand because in many localities people don't trust government officials.

However, the researcher should tell the group what they studying, and where it will be published. The research should be accessible to groups also.
