The organization and components of the Eukaryotic cells are more complex than prokaryotic ones. A: Nucleus. B: Cytoplasm. C: Ribosomes. D: DNA. E: Cell membrane.

What is the characteristics of Eukaryotic cell?

Although they have many structures in common, the Eukaryotic cells are more evolved and complex compared to prokaryotic cells.

Eukaryotic cells are composed of,

  • Cell membrane that separates the cytoplasm from the extracellular environment.

  • Cell walls present only in plant and fungi cells. Provides support.

  • Lineal DNA protected by the nucleus

  • Nuclear membrane that separates the nuclear content from the cytoplasm

  • Organelles located in the cytoplasm accomplish different functions. Among them, we can mention chloroplast, mitochondria, endoplasmatic reticulum, Golgi complex, ribosomes, and peroxisomes.

  • Cytoskeleton composed of different proteins. It provides structure.

The structures in the provided cell are,

A- Nucleus. This is the green structure protecting the DNA. The nuclear membrane isolates the nuclear content from the cytoplasm.

B- Cytoplasm. In this semifluid space, we can identify several organelles that compose the cell and parts of the cytoskeleton.

C- Ribosomes. These are located on the Rough Endoplasmic reticulum surrounding the nucleus. They are closely involved in protein synthesis.

D- DNA. A lineal molecule composed of nucleotides and other associated proteins that carry genetic information.

E- Cell membrane. This structure isolates the cell content from the exterior.
