Respuesta :

what I did is :

since the number set is even meaning that we will have 2 medians

and that unknown median is in the middle with the known median and the known median is 54 which is in the middle.

but we don't know the other median because they are supposed to be 2 middle numbers.

so we call the unknown number 'x'.

to get the median of a set of numbers having two middle numbers, we add those to middle numbers and divide by 2.

so since we replaced the unknown value as 'x'

so we just do:

X + 54 / 2 = 50

( we have been given the "main median" which is 50 but we are looking for the other number we added with 54 and dividing by 2 to give us our "main median" which is 50).

sooo..

we cross multiply and we get..

54 + x = 100

x = 100 - 54

x = 46

(Don't mind the fact that '46' isn't there, sometimes they make mistakes with the answers options ).

CHECKING OUR WORK.

so the other missing number is 46.

to know if we are correct we just simply add the 2 middle numbers which are '46' and '54' and divide by 2 and see if we would get the "main median" equal to 50..

so..

46+54 / 2

100/2 = 50

so we are CORRECT ✅.

Hope this helps.

Good luck ✅.
