Cell respiration occurs in the mitochondria, and for it to function it needs CO2(Carbon Dioxide) and it’s waste product is oxygen. Photosynthesis occurs in the chloroplast, when chlorophyll absorbs sunlight, also absorbing CO2, the waste product is Oxygen
In photosynthesis, light energy is fixed. In respiration, energy is released. The raw materials of photosynthesis are carbon dioxide and water. The raw materials of respiration are carbohydrates or organic substances and oxygen.
