Reagan and Gorbachev signed a treaty to reduce nuclear weapons. It is called the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty. The negotiations to achieve this treaty went on for about 6 years. Although the treaty was signed by the USSR, Russia was following the same rules after the USSR fell. President Trump withdrew from the treaty and accused Russia of non compliance.
