Cell wall has different functions. One of the major function of it is to serve or act as pressure vessels that could prevent enlargement or over expansion of the cell when water or liquid enters. It also provides strength to the cell which helps a lot for protecting the cell from any damage/s. The cell wall also provides shape to the cell and it lets the organism maintain an overall shape.
