PLEASE HELP!
Andre is setting up rectangular tables for a party. He can fit 6 chairs around a single table. Andre lines up 10 tables end-to-end and tries to fit 60 chairs around them, but he is surprised when he cannot fit them all. Write an equation for the relationship between the number of chairs c and the number of tables t when a) the tables are apart from each other b) the tables are placed end-to-end.
What is the first relationship?
What's the second relationship?

Respuesta :

Answer:

a) 10c =60

c = 6 chairs per table

b) 60 - 18 = 42 chairs

Answer:

60= -(8tb-2c)-(2ta-c)

Step-by-step explanation:

A table has 4 sides since they are rectangles let's assume that two sides can fit 2 chairs and two sides can fit 1. That's 6 total, now if you put ten end to end, eight tables ends are completely cover (16 chairs are taken out of the equation), then the end tables have one end covered on each side (-2). There are now 18 chairs gone. He can only fit (60-18= 42) 42 chairs on the tables.
