There were three reasons why Moon was intent on coming into contact with Sander:
- Sanders had thrown away his wheelbarrow. The wheelbarrow was special to him because it was related to his father.
- He wanted to show his friend that indeed, he could whip anyone three times his size because this was what his father made him believe, and he did believe it.
Why is Sanders so intent on "Catching" Moon?
According to Moon, he had whipped Sanders. This is why Sanders was intent on catching him. Textual evidence is given in Moon's words:
“He might be mad about me whippin’ up on him.”
How did Moon get Kit medical attention?
Kit took a path that led to the open road all the while carrying Kit on a log. When they got to the road, Moon, waved a car down, and as soon as he had their attention he left Kit with them.
Where does Moon go after he leaves Kit?
Moon fled back into the forest. He went far enough to hide.
What are some of the things that moon learns about what his dad told him?
One of the things Moon learns is that he can not beat up everyone.
The second was that it was not normal to live the kind of life that he was living.
