Marshall spoke of an urgent need to help the European recovery in his address at Harvard University in June 1947. The purpose of the Marshall Plan was to aid in the economic recovery of nations after World War II and to reduce the influence of communist parties within them.
After world war 2 there was a lot of economic downfall. Businesses had been destroyed and the Marshall plan was the best way to help them through it, it aided in rebuilding places that had been destroyed— similar to the Stimulus checks America has received, aiding in economic downfall!
