since there's an even number of numbers in the set, you have to take the mean of the two middle numbers. in this case, the two middle numbers are 30  and 34.

you take the mean of numbers by adding them, and then dividing them based on the number of numbers. (sorry if that doesn't make sense, just look down ehe)

(30+34)/2

we divide by two because there are two numbers.

(30+34)/2

(64)/2
