The world war I has changed many boundaries if nations like the Poland Latvia that broke away from the Russian empire. Czechoslovakia was formed from the former territories of the Austria and hungry. Germany was formed the federal republic in 1949 and with the weakening of the former USSR the other eastern European countries became independent.
