PLEASE HELP ASAP How were Native American political systems different from Mesoamerican and early river civilizations?

Tribal governments were much smaller and were usually more local. Some tribes chose one chief to lead in peacetime and another to lead during war. Custom and tradition governed the people's actions, not written laws.
