- First multiply
1/3 times 1/6
across giving you 1/18
-then get the LCD of 5/9 and 1/18 which is 18
multiply 5/9 times 2/2 to get 10/18.
-Now you can subtract
10/18- 1/18 =
9/18
-further simplify by diving the top and bottom of 9/18 by 9
the answer would be =
1/2
