Answer: Greasers are poor and have "gangs", and Socs are rich and have "social clubs". They hang out in different places - Ponyboy says that "the Socs go to The Way Out and to Rusty's, and the Greasers go to "The Dingo and to Jay's".

Explanation: We're poorer than the Socs and the middle class. I reckon we're wilder, too. Not like the Socs... Greasers are almost like hoods; we steal things and drive old souped-up cars and hold up gas stations and have a gang fight once in a while.
