Some evidence is the first sentence, which it says "the US government would help  close the gender gap in the Senate". Also, it has statistical evidence, such as "only 21% of US Senate seats were occupied by  women in 2017." that tell more of the gender gap, along with "A study conducted by Political Parity, a nonpartisan  organization, shows that the biggest barriers blocking women from  running for Senate are fundraising needs and the parties' perceived  preference for male candidates.".
