WHAT ARE LIPIDS:

  • Lipids are one of the four biomolecules we have in nature. Structurally, lipids are made up of monomers called FATTY ACIDS and GLYCEROL.

  • Each of these monomers are made up of long chains of carbon, meaning that lipids also have long chains of carbon.

However, nucleotides are monomers of another biological molecule called nucleic acids and hence, cannot be a component of lipids.
