The ever-first colony of America was founded at the city Jamestown in Virginia in the year 1607. Many of the people who shifted from their native place to settle in America were homeless and were searching for a comfortable place to live in. The Pilgrims, founders of Plymouth, Massachusetts, arrived in 1620. In both the cities Virginia and Massachusetts the native Americans were given shelter in the colonies.

The population of the non-native American settlers from 1805-1900 increased drastically and the place started to get crowded. Because of this most people of people packed up and settled in new places because of the railroads and in search of their livelihood.
