The only character who believed in doodle throughout the story was
The narrator.
The narrator was the one to help Doodle learn to walk and learn to run normally. His parents and his aunts just told him to carry him around on this cart. And said "he will never be able to walk" and all the adults accepted that fact, but the narrator (his brother) decided not too.
