a mooc is a massive open online class. basically its taking a class virtually and learning subjects or trades through it. I do not believe the hype entirely in regards to it "replacling classrooms" because interactivity is essential, but I do believe for many trades, such as software development etc. where in person imteraction isnt as important, moocs will play a huge role.
