A. Sons of Liberty was the group that led violent protests against British taxation in the colonies. They carried out many violent protests, during which they burned down tax-collector houses, and are famous for organizing the Boston Tea Party in 1773. 
When Britain imposed the un-endured acts in the 1750's and 60's, a greater number of people became angry, and started to act violently against British Loyalists in the colonies.
