The truth value of an equation does not change, when we multiply both sides of the equation by the same value.
For example
[tex]3=3[/tex]
The truth value is True
Then, multiplying both sides by 2, gives
[tex]2(3)=2(3)[/tex]
[tex]\Rightarrow 6=6[/tex]
This statement is still True.
This property of real numbers is called the Multiplication property of equality.
