multiplication property of equality

The truth value of an equation does not change, when we multiply both sides of the equation by the same value.

For example

[tex]3=3[/tex]

The truth value is True

Then, multiplying both sides by 2, gives

[tex]2(3)=2(3)[/tex]

[tex]\Rightarrow 6=6[/tex]

This statement is still True.

This property of real numbers is called the Multiplication property of equality.
