In traditional days, tractors were used at fields to conduct agricultural activities. Furthermore, in today's world, in addition to regular lawn maintenance, landscape maintenance, shifting or distributing fertilizer, and clearing weeds, tractors are being used to plow, till and plant farms. There are categories of tractor for performing specific works like:

  • Compact tractors are suitable for heavy duty landscaping jobs and activities on large parks, fields and pastures like digging, hauling or plowing.
  • Subcompact tractors have the strength and flexibility to conduct a wide variety of cultivation tasks involving mowing, shifting mulch and field tilling.
  • For complicated farming activities, utility tractors are suggested, and come in various versions.

The power shift and hydrostatic transfer to simplify function are incorporated in modern tractors. Although these tractors do have power steering to render turning much simpler, advanced models aid with exclusive shift controls and automatically responsive transmission to minimize operator fatigue.

Tractors have been mechanical equivalent of the plough and are also used for tilling and carrying heavy loads.

Explanation:

Tractors can be used for ploughing and tilling with motor power instead of the use of bare hands and cattle which was an arduous and tedious  process for the people responsible for the farms.

They are also affordable vehicles in that they allow the farmer to use them up fairly even for a mid sized farm and do not require much maintenance either.

They are also responsible for carrying large loads effectively making it much easier for the farmer to transport large number of loads by themselves and make the farming process effective.
