using conservation of momentum

m₁v₁ + m₂v₂ = m₁v₁' + m₂v₂'

m₁v₁ + m₂v₂ = m₁v₁' + m₂v₂'

2000 x 10 - 1000 x 15 = - 2000 x 7 + 1000 v₂'

1000 v₂' = 19000

v₂' = 19 m/s
