Cellular respiration is the process by which organisms break down nutrients to yield energy in the form of ATP required to carry out day to day activities.
It occurs in three phases, which includes; glycolysis, Kreb's cycle and electron transport chain. The process produces 38 ATP molecules per every glucose molecule oxidized.
Out of the 38 ATP molecules generated during cellular respiration, 2 ATP come from glycolysis, 2 ATP from the Krebs cycle, and about 34 ATP from the electron transport system.
