Advantages:

  • First person narratives have a much easier time gathering empathy from the audience, since they have spent so much time in your character's brain
  • First person narrator can easily "dump" information on the reader

Disadvantages:

  • Describing they protagonist clearly and honestly is difficult
  • Perspective and perceptions are extremely limited
