What most likely caused the rabbit population to decrease over the first time unit shown in the following graph? a. A disease in the rabbit population b. A decrease in amount of healthy grass available c. An decreasing population of hawks d. A higher-than-ideal population of snakes Please select the best answer from the choices provided A B C D

Respuesta :

The answer is; D

In the food chain, snakes feed on rabbits while snakes are fed on by hawks. The high population of snakes in the initial phases mean that they gave enormous limiting pressure on the rabbit population through predation. However, as you can see in the graph, when the population of snakes drops, that of rabbits increases. Also, the population of snakes are dependent on that of hawks.
