The Constitution gives Congress the power to promote the progress of science by giving authors and inventors the exclusive rights to their own work for a limited time. In a paragraph of five sentences or more, explain how scientific progress is promoted by having patent and copyright protection.

Respuesta :

Scientific progress is promoted by having patent and copyright protection because, if an individual is working on something and they invent a new way of doing something. Patents and copyrights protects that person work. in other words no one will be able to steal that invention or work, without crediting the actual creator. For example, if you create a new space suit out of carbon fiber (light weight material) and manipulate something in the structure that allows astronauts the ability to wear this new suit without having the weight of normal suits, you would patent it so someone cant take those ideas and say they created it.

It insures that scientists and researchers have the opportunity to benefit from their work, professionally and financially, without fear that someone who has no risk or involvement will steal their intellectual property. This gives such researchers and scientists an incentive to do the hard work involved and to make the work available to the public.
