The solution to this problem is to convert 1/3 tons/minute to the number of tons/day.

This is done by multiplying 1/3 tons/minute by 60 minutes/hour and by 24 hours/day.

Looking the units of measure, we see that the minutes will cancel and the hours will cancel; and we will be left with tons/day.  To determine how many, multiply (1/3) x 60 x 24.  I will leave the calculation to you, but you should get 480.
