Bilbo should continue the quest because he has came all this way he opened the trap door and he knows what is going on so Bilbo should not have to come all this way to give up and give someone else the leader job. There is no reason that Bilbo has to replace his leader for another because he has done nothing wrong. For example if Bilbo let the other person take his place then Bilbo would basically be giving up his research.
